Percy jackson Review
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan is the first book in an epic fantasy series that mixes modern life with ancient Greek mythology. It follows 12-year-old Percy Jackson, a boy who always gets into trouble at school and struggles with ADHD and dyslexia. But soon he finds out the truth: he's a demigod , the son of Poseidon, the god of the sea! After a monster attacks him on a school field trip, Percy learns that the gods of Olympus are real, and one of them thinks he stole Zeus’s powerful lightning bolt. Percy is sent to Camp Half-Blood, a training camp for demigods. There, he meets Annabeth, daughter of Athena, and Grover, a satyr (half human, half goat), and together they go on a dangerous quest across the U.S. to find the real thief and stop a war between the gods. The book is full of action, mystery, monsters, and humor. There are awesome scenes like fighting the Minotaur, escaping Medusa, and sneaking into the Underworld. One of the coolest things is how the gods and monsters from Greek myths show up in the modern world. For example, Mount Olympus is now above the Empire State Building. I really liked how Percy grows throughout the story. He starts off unsure and confused, but he becomes a true hero by the end. Annabeth is smart and brave, and Grover is funny and loyal. Their friendship and teamwork made the story even better. The themes of this book include friendship, bravery, finding where you belong, and dealing with learning differences. It teaches you that even if you feel different, you can still be strong and important.
Would I recommend this book? YES!
If you like adventure, fantasy, or Greek mythology, this book is perfect for you. It’s fast-paced, funny, and has just the right amount of danger. I couldn’t stop reading it!
